DESCRIPTION:Location\n\nRhode Island Hospital – Friday\, September 27 (8.00 AM – 5.00 PM)\nWarren Alpert Medical School of Brown University – Saturday\, September 28 (8.00 AM – 5.00 PM)\n\nAbout this event\nAttendees will learn about the issues impacting the health of Cabo Verdianos and gain the skills to address current and future health challenges facing the community in the islands and the United States.  The conference will highlight current collaboration between healthcare providers in the US and Cabo Verde and emphasize the following key issues: building workforce capacity\, medical education\, forming effective cross-cultural collaborations\, building community\, and promoting research. \nOBJECTIVES:  \n\nGain insight into the organizational structure of the current Cabo Verdianos health system\, and identify its key infrastructural pillars including facilities and services\, existing healthcare workforce\, current information technology\, and intrinsic challenges.\nAttain an understanding of the current health education system in Cabo Verde and address the current and future workforce needs. Identify the areas where CVAMS members have identified gaps and discuss their efforts to train Cabo Verdianos doctors\, nurses\, radiology technicians\, and others.\nDevelop relationship and community building skills across cultures. Learn to acknowledge and honor differences among professionals and learn from each other in a trusting atmosphere of cultural humility.\nConvene organizations of Cabo Verdianos Americans to spotlight their visions\, current projects and opportunities for the CV community.\nHighlight current research projects by Cabo Verdiano researchers in the United States and the islands.\n\n  \nWe are excited to welcome you to our upcoming CVAMS 4th Annual Meeting conference weekend!
