Dr. Susan Weinberg is a graduate of Case Western Reserve School of Medicine in Cleveland where she was honored as the Most Likely to Succeed in Clinical Medicine in her class. She completed her residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Cincinnati where she served as Chief Resident. She is a board certified diagnostic radiologist and a Fellow in the American College of Radiology. She was an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Cincinnati before entering private practice at Bethesda Hospital. At Bethesda, she served as Chair of the Department of Radiology for nearly 20 years.
She developed an interest in Women’s and Advanced Imaging early in her career. She was the founder and Medical Director of the Mary Jo Cropper Family Center for Breast Care, a comprehensive center, which presently serves the breast health needs of nearly 60,000 Greater Cincinnati area women. She was the key organizer of the annual Mary Jo Cropper Celebration of Angels generating 2.5 million dollars in grants for center research and projects.
Dr. Weinberg was the first female president of the Greater Cincinnati Academy of Medicine. She has served as President of the Greater Cincinnati Radiologic Society, and founder and medical director of Optimal Medical Imaging.
She has served on multiple boards including Susan G. Komen, the American Cancer Society, Bethesda Foundation, Bethesda Consolidated Services, and the Cincinnati Academy of Medicine Foundation.
She has authored multiple articles and research studies in peer reviewed journals, written book chapters, published and run CME courses and has participated in several TV and radio presentations.
She has been honored as a Health Care Hero, Top Doctor, and Bethesda Physician of the Year.
She is a docent at the Cincinnati Art Museum.
Dr. Weinberg retired from her full time diagnostic radiology practice in 2019 and presently works part-time in Ohio.
