Dr. Veronica Maria Pimentel, MD, MS, FACOG, is a physician born in S. Nicolau, Cabo Verde. She is an assistant professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine. Dr. Pimentel is double board-certified in Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) and Obstetrics and Gynecology (ObGyn). She practices in Connecticut at Trinity Health Of New England where she serves as the Director of Research for the ObGyn Residency and as the Course Director for the MFM Sub-Internship. Dr. Pimentel has authored several publications and has presented at many international, national, regional and local conferences and meetings, including in Cabo Verde.
Dr. Pimentel is actively involved with the medical, state, local and online communities. Dr. Pimentel is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and has collaborated with this organization to recognize the contributions of enslaved Black women to the field of ObGyn. She is also an active collaborator of the March of Dimes of Connecticut and the Connecticut Perinatal Quality Collaborative.
